Walk of Butts
Cigarette butts are among the most widespread waste in the environment. We collect them together, and we turn them into something else.
Why it matters
Up to 15 years
That is how long a single cigarette butt can take to break down.
Toxic substances
While they degrade, butts release toxic substances into soil and water.
A second life
Thanks to our partnership with Re-Cig, the butts we collect are recycled into new usable materials.

How a walk works
We hand out a collection kit — gloves, tongs and containers — and we walk through public spaces together, cleaning them. Every walk also makes room for a conversation about waste management and ecological practices: collecting is the excuse, changing habits is the goal.
